Questions and answers
How does your process work?

Calsaway uses a reverse osmosis filtration system. This system is similar to under sink units installed in many homes for pure drinking water, except that it is high pressure, so it is much more efficient. Water is pulled from your pool by an external pump powered by a generator in the trailer. It is then delivered to the filtration trailer via a 2 inch hose where it is augmented by another pump that pushes it through 12 filters at 200 psi. The  water that passes through the membranes is now void of minerals, and  is returned to your pool via a 2 inch hose. The mineral laden water that is rejected by the membranes, is delivered to your sewage drain out via a garden hose.

How long does it take?

Every pool is different. The time it takes is dependent on the size of the pool and the levels of minerals in your water. Typically a 10,000 gallon pool would take between 10 and 15 hours depending on initial water quality.

How long does it last?

Calsaway recommends filtering your pool every one to two years to ensure a buildup of harmful minerals will not damage your pool and equipment.

What is the difference between the Calsaway process and draining?

The biggest impact of choosing Calsaway is on the environment. By using Calsaway we typically retain 80 percent of the water, lessening the impact on our limited water reserves. Calsaway also offers better water quality than tap water of many municipalities in the Phoenix area.

Will this get rid of that white line on my tile?

It may, if it has not been there long. Calsaway recommends George at Diamondback Tile for tile cleaning, 602-502-5605 . Once removed, the Calsaway filtration process will help prevent those unsightly lines from coming back, and save you money.

Why do the mineral levels in my pool rise?

As water evaporates, the minerals are left behind. Keeping your pool level up requires the addition of more mineral laden water that will also
evaporate and leave the minerals behind. This cycle continues until your pool water is overrun with hardness minerals and chemicals cannot combat them.

Should I drain my pool?

The Calsaway process eliminates the need to drain your pool for hard water or “chemical lock”. However, there are other reasons that you may need to drain your pool. If you need to do repairs to your liner or bottom drain, install pop-ups or any other renovations, draining may be necessary.
